[ARCHIVED] City Receiving $490,800 in Community Crossing Grants for Paving Projects in 2024

The City of Charlestown was awarded a $490,799.95 Community Crossing Matching Grant during the 2023 cycle for 2024 projects.

A total of $91.5 million was dispersed to cities, counties, and towns throughout the state for road improvement projects. Charlestown (population under 10,000), falls in the 75/25-percent match designation.

In the month of February, MAC Construction came in as the lowest bid, and was awarded the paving contract. HWC Engineering will oversee the project along with the City of Charlestown’s streets department. 

Slated to be paved in 2024 are roads in the Pleasant Ridge and the Danbury Oaks areas.

“I’m grateful for the Community Crossings grant program as we will be able to pave streets in our neighborhoods,” said Mayor Treva Hodges. “Maintaining our infrastructure is always a high priority for us.”

The streets on the list are Aberdeen Ln., Anna Louise Dr., Arlington Ave., Audubon Ct., Barringer St., Berkley Rd., Brook Hallow Ct., Butler Ave., Chapel Hill Ct., Chestnut Hill Ct., Covington Ct., Dodge Blvd., Dundee Ct., Fairfield Ave., Glencoe Ct., Glenmore Ct., Guilford Ave., Lowell Ave., Marcy St., Marshall Dr., Raylee Dr., Ridge Rd., and Riley Ave.
