FAP Survey

Release Date: April 10, 2025

CHARLESTOWN, Ind. – The City of Charlestown is seeking public input on the future of the city’s Family Activities Park to better serve visitors.

Charlestown Parks and the Charlestown Redevelopment Commission are developing a master plan for the park and would love to hear from residents and visitors.

“Our commitment to community collaboration makes this master plan a critical part of the future development and additions to the Family Activities Park,” said Mayor Treva Hodges. “I love working with feedback received directly from our residents and I hope we have record numbers of responses so that we can make the park the best it can be.”

Located at 1000 Park Street, across from Charlestown High School, the Family Activities Park opened in 2013. The park features a skatepark, an 18-hole mini-golf course, an outdoor covered roller skating rink, a playground, a splash pad, a concession building, and a private party room. In 2024, the park expanded with phase one of The Depot, a teen hangout area.

The park is open daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day and during the Charlestown Christmas City season from Thanksgiving through Christmas. The skatepark is open year-round.

“We’re eager to hear from our park guests about how we can continue to grow and improve the Family Activities Park,” said Parks Director Carrie Basham. “We want our visitors to have a great experience and hearing these ideas will help us set long- and short-term project goals.”

In addition to the survey, there will be two open public feedback meetings to be held at the Family Activities Park. The dates are Thursday, April 24 and Wednesday, April 30 from 6-7 p.m. The public can stop by to visit the park and provide input.
