Led by Chief Timothy Wolff, the Charlestown Police Department (CHPD) is comprised of 17 full-time academy certified Indiana Police Officers, including the Chief, School Resource Officer, and Detectives. The CHPD is supplemented with 15 certified and trained Reserve Police Officers which enable enhancement of various services provided to the community.
CHPD also holds a Charlestown Community Neighborhood Watch meetings throughout the year.
The Charlestown Volunteer Fire Department Inc. is contracted with the Charlestown-Oregon Townships Fire Protection District Board to provide fire protection for all of the Charlestown Township district, as well as the Southwestern portion of Oregon Township. Led by Chief John Heal, the protection district totals to the size of 84 square miles in central Clark County.
The Clark County Health Department offers emergency preparedness, wellness, addiction, environmental and other health related issues to promote a safe and healthy community.
